Etsy Shop Feature - Petrafanella

Hello again my friends! My apologies once again for all the waiting. Life is slowly winding down and I am feeling better.
I send big love to the sweet shop owner who has so patiently been awaiting this feature! She is fabulous and I plan to promote her like there is no tomorrow!
Welcome my friends to…..
Despite my lack of posting lately, Peta has been patiently awaiting her moment in the sun. So here we go!
First off let me say that this collar is by far my favorite piece in this shop! I think I am a bit biased since red is my favorite color, but nonetheless I am sold! From the moment I laid eyes on this I had to have it. Now on my Christmas list, I am in love!
Tell us a little about yourself!
My name is Peta and I work part time in the arts industry in Perth, Western Australia. I studied Fashion and Textiles and then launched my fashion label petrafanella which sold in stores around Perth for 2 years. I moved away for a few years but am now back in Perth, with a (full-time!) toddler in tow, and I am choosing to keep my label more independent, focussing mainly on my knitwear. I have just joined the committee of an amazing group of ladies called Made on the Left (http://www.madeontheleft.com/)which is a not-for-profit organisation representing independent designers and craftspersons in Western Australia. So, I keep myself busy!
What started you into crafting?
I have always been mad crazy into fashion and as a child I was always the arty one. When I did my studies in Fashion and Textile Design, we had to study knitting and I just took to it. I love the process of actually creating fabric, and I love that with craft I can hand craft and create every step of a garment, rather than mass produce things. I feel like a part of me and my story goes into everything I make.
How scrumptious is this candy pastel scarf? Yes I did say scrumptious! It almost looks good enough to eat! I am a big fan of chunky and warm scarves. This one looks like it would be heavenly to wear around your neck don’t you think?
What was the biggest challenge when opening your shop?
The biggest hurdle was myself - just actually deciding to go for it and to commit to it. Deciding to put myself out there, which is about belief in my own work. I guess I was just doubting that this could be a business for me. With the great response I have got since I started it, I feel really affirmed and ready to take off!
You should feel affirmed Peta! Your work is simply amazing and I am sure my readers can agree with me. Scrumptious for sure….
What would you say is your favorite piece in your shop?
My current favourite pieces in my shop are the collars - they are just so scrumptious and cute!I love making these and I think the pompoms just finish them off!
I am going to have to agree! They are so adorable and I want to just cuddle up in one for the whole winter. Mmmm….does anyone besides me feel like a cup of cocoa?

What can we expect to see from you in the future?
More, more, more!! I am keen to hear from interested stockists in the US and in Australia too (although it is Summer here at the moment.) I am going to start working more with my knitting machine which creates a much finer knit and I’m planning to create more garments to complement the scarves and accessories. And more colour!!
Thank you so very much Peta for sharing with us! Your work is truly an art and I am happy to have featured you on my blog! Keep up the amazing work and we will be right behind you every step of the way!
